HOW FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTIONS ARE ALLOCATED

NO ONE IN THIS MUSEUM GETS PAID. ALL ARE VOLUNTEERS.

NEVADA MUSEUM OF MILITARY HISTORY IS A FEDERAL 501 (C)(3) TAX EXEMPT NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION, AND A NEVADA NONPROFIT ORG.

Most people who are asked to donate to a nonprofit entity want to know how their money is to be spent, and that it will be spent wisely. We are taking this opportunity to explain just how we utilize the money you donate.

Membership dues, $35 annually, go into the general fund. That money is used to purchase office supplies, and daily use supplies. Operating a museum, open to the public, is like having a lot of company every day year after year. So, we really have a need for membership dues.

Money donated specifically for programs and restoration projects is allocated in the following manner. 95 cents of every dollar goes directly to fund that program or project. 5 cents of every dollar is set aside to pay our utility bills. So, in essence, 100% of your contribution provides funding for all programs and projects.

We also seek donations of materials and other supplies from local businesses and corporations. In so doing, we get the biggest bang for your dollar, and corporate/business donated items. This will allow us to provide excellence in displayed items and supplemental educational programs for our youth.

Everyone who donates to this museum will have their name listed in the Book of Donors. Along with your name will be the program or project you have supported, but not the dollar amount you donated unless you specify that you want that amount included. The book will be kept at the front desk for anyone to look at. We feel it is of great importance that all donors be recognized, for it is public support which allows us to exist.

Many of you are probably interested in knowing if you can go flying in one of our warbirds. The answer is yes. As soon as we get our building erected and have a place to operate from, we will start that program. We anticipate that we will begin this program with the T-34 Trainer, and then move into the larger warbirds. The flying program will operate from mid June through late November. The rest of the year the weather is so unpredictable that we cannot schedule any flights.

We will NEVER provide your name to any other organization, nor will we hound you for more and more money. We do not like organizations that operate in such a manner, and we are sure you do not like it either.
